Poems
Writing poetry has always been an outlet for me. From an early age, instead of keeping a diary,
I would write a poem. I found solace and healing in words. Each of my works represents a moment in my life that either happened to me, to someone I care about or I observed in the everyday.
My poems are my songs, my artwork, my self-expression. They are raw and vulnerable.
It took me over 30 years to finally feel comfortable putting my work out for others to see.
Now I share them you.

Mental Metamorphosis
Now I lay me down to sleep
another day over
watch mother weep
mental illness
the child doesn’t understand
Agoraphobia
She stays in the house
afraid to go outside
afraid of big spaces
afraid of big crowds
Months of therapy
bedroom
to
kitchen
to
front porch
to
driveway
Tears slowly fade
Fog of fear
Gently rises
Chrysalis period ends
Mother emerges
Beautiful butterfly

Metastasize
Dirty laundry
Lived within
Held grudges
Seeped in
Rapid fire
Flames from eyes
Hang out angry words
to dry
Four walls
breaking down
fall over
property line
family secrets
exposed
dirty laundry
metastasize
the world knows
